Doctor Who: The Whovian Review

Warren, John and Michael take a look at the final episode involving Amy and Rory as companions, and another amazing River Song story. This episodes marks the completion of all of the current Doctor Who (9-15), and a shout out to Sophie for our intro! Warren and Michael take a look at this Chris Chibnall episode, and ponder the point of the Shakri, an alien race that wants to rid the universe of humanity by using little black cubes. And waiting. And waiting. And waiting before they open said cubes!? 

Michael and Warren are joined by Charlie, who was on the podcast a while ago, and we take a look at the Season 7 Part 1 episode that brings us back to the Wild Wild West! The Doctor, Amy, and Rory materialize near an 1800's town run by someone who looks like they stepped off of Farscape with a Stetson and a 'stache! But who is the doctor held captive by the sheriff? And how does the town have electricity. Small technical issues until rating time, but we got it figured out...

Warren, Jon, and I enjoy a fun romp of an episode, and one that doesn't require a field handbook to decipher. With that said, some emotional moments with a Triceratops named Tracy, a TARDIS gang, Brian, and a Queen Nefertiti loving David Bradley round out a highly entertaining episode. 

We reach back to Season 7 and finally get a chance to talk about this underrated story. The start of updated title sequences, self contained stories, and the end of an amazing era is nigh. What did all of us think about this story?!

Reaching back into the vaults we came across an episode that never made it to distribution, and although great attempts to post this one episode, it never found its way out of the missing vault! So without further ado, we present our recently found again episode from the Season 6 era. Look for more recovered episodes from the past coming this year, both for The Whovian Review, and Doctor Who!

Warren and Jon give their take as classic fans, and then my son Jeremy gives his take as a newer fan of this infamous story. Do any of us consider this the worst story in Doctor Who's history? Is there anything redeeming with this particular tale? Who rates this story higher than everyone else, and who will suggest that there is some actual character development happening in the story. If we could just get past episode 1, and more to the point this story has the greatest range in scores during this one podcast I believe I have seen yet!

Warren and Jon share their insights into this unique Doctor Who story from Season 21. We did watch the Special Edition version on the DVD, and although this was watched in 2013, it just felt right to say goodbye to Turlough and hello to Peri. Hope you enjoy!

Michael, Jeremy, and Warren tackle the grim and deadly fourth story of Season 21. Commander Lytton makes his debut, and Davros is interesting again. But will the fate of one companion change the Doctor forever? Beautifully realized given the budget, but we have some complaints. We watched the DVD version. Soon the BluRay for Season 21 will be out with an all new version. Can't wait!
